Oomphatico’s, a new trend in the cafe experience has launched a brand new menu. This new menu, engineered by Oomphaticos’ very own head chef, Akhil Prabhu, brings to you an excellent selection of salads and starters with dishes like Mushrooms a la grecque – marinated oyster mushrooms, shiitake and Portobello with truffled bruschetta, Salade nicoise with ‘blackened’ yellow-fin tuna, and the Feta and Spinache pie, a must-try.

Besides the regular selection of pasta, risottos, pizzas and sandwiches, some of Chef Akhil’s signature mains include, the divine Duo of grilled Angus fillet steak and slow red wine braised short rib, horseradish foam and meat glaze. Another favourite is the Slow roasted crisped pork belly on a vindaloo emulsion, with sautéed prawns, apple alumettes and balsamic tar. For seafood lovers, a must try would be the Chermoula crusted Chilean seabass, with tomato fondue, sweet corn salad and lemon foam.

To accompany your main course, do try the mashed potato with hazelnut crush or even the creamed spinach. For the health conscious, Oomphatico’s offers vegetarian options as well as gluten free dishes. The Oomphatico’s experience is incomplete without trying our specially made inhouse desserts. Try the very popular Painter’s palette of homemade exotic fruit sorbet – a delectable selection of 5 flavourful, freshly made sorbets to cool down on
a warm day – the best ice-cream experience ever! For something more traditional, try the signature Warm Apple and Raisin Bread and Butter Pudding topped with vanilla ice cream or even the very popular, Sticky date Pudding with vanilla ice cream.

Chef Akhil, whose style is adding a modern twist to classics, began training at the age of seventeen gaining valuable experience at the prestigious institute of hotel management in Mumbai. He was picked by the famed ITC Sheraton Chef Mentoring Programme after which he went on to become sous chef at the Sheraton in New Delhi. He eventually progressed to Head Chef at the Hotel Cafe which is the leading restaurant in the city.

Chef Akhil then moved to New Zealand to work at the acclaimed Soul Bar and Bistro in Auckland, specialising in seafood. He has a passion for sourcing and researching food culture and ingredients – particularly the history and science behind dishes. Each dish is made with great care as he puts his heart and soul into each creation. Sanveer Gill, Director of Oomphatico’s, summarises the philosophy behind Oomphatico’s. ‘The cafe is all about enjoying a great dining experience with loved ones – Over lunch with colleagues, high tea with girlfriends, dinner with your partner
and even brunch with your family over the weekends.’ With a unique menu and an unpretentious ambience, you don’t need a reason to be at Oomphatico’s. Whether you are taking a break from a gruelling work routine or
enjoying some gourmet coffee while reading a book, Oomphatico’s offers a melange of the complete lifestyle experience.
