Ice-cream never fails to put a smile on my face. The thought of seductively creamy scoops of ice-cream plonked atop golden crispy waffles on a cool breezy Sunday morning caps the past week with a blissful sweet after-taste and perks you for the unnerving week ahead.

That’s where Udders come in, the cheekily named establishment located at Novena ( Opp. United Square ) is one charming little ice-creamery that serves scoops of glistening home-made ice cream that hits the sweet spot with just the right amount of consistency, texture and gloss.

Stepping into the cozy lil’ shop. A larger than life wall-to-wall chalk board greets you with colorful chalk written flavors like “Mojito”, “Bubblegum” and “Apple Sours”. Patrons can candidly write down whatever wild flavor ideas they’d like turned into reality or vote for ones already written down with multi-colored chalk from the cute tin cans hanging close.

Serving over 20 flavors with endearing names like Tira-miss-u, Strawberry Fields, Champion Cempedak, Green Tea-rrific and Gila Melaka, you’ll be spoilt for choice at this humble yet excellent little sweet shop. The REAL gems however, are in their two durian flavors (D24, Mao Shan Wang) and their range of liqueur infused concoctions of creamy essentials –“Rum Rum Raisin”, “Baileys & Bourbon”, “Amaretto Black”, “Orange Choc Bitters” and “Tira-miss-u”… Give these ultra-dense, ultra-smooth seductive liqueur & fruit ice-cream a lovin’ lick and I promise you, your taste buds will individually thank you for the tantalizing-ly rich intensity of flavors that’ll dissolve in your mouth and leave it with a velvety after-feel, then making its way down your throat, lathering it cool with its creamy goodness. Mmmmm… before you know it, your buds got a mind of its own and you find yourself moving in for your second scoop.. then third….. then fourth. Ahhhhh what frozen bliss.

Note: If you head down, must try flavors include Mao Shan Wang Durian, Orange Choc Bitters, Rum Rum Raisin, Tira-Miss-U, Strawberry Fields( made with fresh strawberries ) and home-made waffles.
