Perched on the 70th floor of Swissotel The Stamford, there is no better view in Singapore. On clear days, you can get a good view of the Singapore skyline with a good chunk of Indonesia thrown in — and this will surely save the dinner conversation should it ever falter. And this is a good thing, because the food probably won’t. Don’t get me wrong, the food here is delicious, but there are certainly no surprises here: seared foie gras that is melt-in-the-mouth perfect and beef tenderloin that is cooked to the second how you like it – indulgent and delicious, of course; good wine list, yes; great service, definitely; revelatory, err, no. The starters of air dried duck with a red banana sauce, and the refreshing pomelo salad with its Thai influences did somewhat successfully injected interest into the proceedings. And the well-thought out cheese platter — our choice over dessert — showed much effort, but also something of an identity crisis, given the ethnicity of our starters. Still, we didn’t mind, where else could you get a view like that?

Amazing view! one and only!
i dont think they have a great service as shangri-la hotel, the staff here are looking at your face and under estimating your capacity if you can afford to pay…i dont realy like they treat me, i have come to the equinox last march and the the staff @ the reception @ the first floor asked me if i have reservation i replyed NO i as i tried calling many times but i cannot get trought…so i desided just to walk in….and the staff looked at me from top to bottom and giving a look with a message likt can you able to afford????????????and actually she asked for my HP number and my name what’s that for?
will if i can’t dine @ the buffet i can dine @ bar restaurant @ 71st floor……we actually dine @ the bar restaurant it was ok except that woman @ the first floor….and i dont think i will come to dine @ swiss otel anymore turns me off that they are looking me down i have because am not ang moh…i have money…..i prefer to dine @ shangri-la much better and yummy and most of all they give respect to each and every customer…..
am actually looking for a resto to dine tomorrow because its my husband b-day actually my husband like to dine @ the over looking view but it reminds me of the incident last march i will definitely not come here….will try seaside resto…..i will definitely find something to our taste…..
