Wooden tabletops, metal teapots and rickety dim sum carts all help to lend the Teahouse a lovely feel of Old World China, and the food feels no less authentic. Steer clear of the dodgy a la carte dishes and go for the faultless favourites such as har gao (shrimp dumpling), siu mai (pork dumpling) and char siu sou (roast pork pastry). Extra commendation must go to the fung tsao (braised chicken claws) for its melt-in-the-mouth consistency and innovative use of an unpopular ingredient, and the pai kut (steamed pork ribs) for its sticky, divine tenderness. The service is knowledgeable and prompt, and as warm and inviting as their steaming, pillow-y dim sum.
